FAQ

When should I book my session?

With newborn and maternity sessions, it's best to book as early as possible to ensure a spot on my calendar, ideally before your third trimester.
For family and other types of sessions, it's best to reach out 4-6 weeks before your desired shoot date. September and October are my busiest months for outdoor shoots, so please inquire early if wanting to shoot in those fall months.

When is the best time to have our session?

Maternity- Maternity sessions are usually scheduled when mom is between 29-34 weeks pregnant (25-30 for twin moms). That way you're at a point where you can show off your bump without risking getting close to your estimated due date!
Newborn - The most ideal time to shoot your newborn is when they are between 5-21 days old. This is when they are at their sleepiest, most moldable age. Sessions can be booked a bit after that, but certain poses may not be achievable. Don't hesitate to reach out even if past the 21 day mark.
Newborn sessions are held on weekday mornings in my studio.
-Outdoor sessions - all outdoor sessions are scheduled either within two hours after sunrise or two hours before sunset, so we can achieve the best possible light for your photos.

How do we officially book?

Once you reach out to me, I will send over my pricing and information guide to you and answer any questions you have. If you're set and ready to go, the next step will be filling out your booking portal. This includes a contract and questionnaire to help me plan your session. Once that's filled out and a deposit is paid, you'll be officially booked! All this is done online for your convenience.

What if my kids don't cooperate?

I'm the first to understand that kids will be kids! My goal is always to make a shoot as fun and laid back as possible, with the patience and proper expectations shown towards them. I have worked with children of all ages for years, and feel confident I can get what I need to photograph them in their best light. If your child is having a particularly off day, we can discuss a reshoot.

What do we wear for our session?

When you book a session with me, I'm here to help you style the whole family. I will provide a style guide and give advice and suggestions along the way.

Coming soon will be a client closet included in the price of your session.

Can I include us or our kids in our newborn session?

Yes! Up to two kids can be included during stylized sessions and parents and children are included in lifestyle sessions. Lifestyle sessions are geared more towards parent/family photos and are perfect for those who are looking for a session based around family and baby connection.

Is newborn photography safe?

Absolutely! My biggest priority during a session is that your baby is safe and secure. Everything will be catered around your baby's needs. I am thoroughly trained with newborn posing and safety and continue both in person and online courses every year to ensure that your baby's in the best hands.
As well, I am CPR trained and up to date on all vaccines including Covid and Flu.

What are your Covid protocols?

I do my best to keep the space clean and virus free. I can wear a mask during indoor sessions if requested and wash and sanitize along the way. I ask my families to sanitize when they arrive and to take their shoes off when they enter (unless part of the photoshoot outfit).
The studio is well cleaned and sanitized after everything session. I also ask my clients to please reschedule if they feel sick at all. There is no penalty for rescheduling and I will do my best to make it work with finding a new date to shoot.

Do you shoot weddings?

While I still do work as a second and associate shooter for a handful of wonderful and talented photographers, I do not personally book my own weddings anymore. I'm more than happy to share some referrals if you need them!

What kind of gear do you use?

I shoot with a Canon Mark IV. My favorite lens to shoot with is my Canon 35mm or my Canon 50mm.
